Our History

iCPooch was born as a result of an 8th grade school project and a highly motivated 12 year old girl at an intense 54 hour event called Startup Weekend Spokane, held in September of 2012 at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Startup Weekend is a global phenomena held in over 65 countries around the world that encourage and support entrepreneur’s efforts to create new companies. On Friday evening, Brooke Martin, a 12 year old entrepreneur presented an innovative idea in the one minute pitch time allowed to all participants, called iCPooch. One of forty presenters (thirty-nine adults & one twelve year old), Brooke quickly won the hearts of those in attendance, receiving more votes than any other presenter.

Brooke has continued to receive great support from those she met at Startup Weekend and the team of professionals assisting her continues to expand. James Pelland, an expert in international product distribution and marketing came on the project team in January of 2013 as the CEO of iCPooch’s newly formed parent company, Bondgy, Inc. Chris Martin, a passionate entrepreneur and founder of several successful startups has joined iCPooch as the Chief Operating Officer.

In March of 2013, Brooke filed her utility patent with the support of Spokane based patent law firm, Lee & Hayes. Other companies that have been instrumental in the product development process, are Limelyte Technologies, JB Engineering, Sigma Design, Paine Hamblen Law, Barer Communications and others.

What started out as a clever idea by a 12 year old entrepreneur to stay in touch with her Golden Retriever, “Kayla”, continues to expand with the help of the amazing team of adult professionals that have supported Brooke’s journey.
